Passing the Authenticity Test
With the launch of a new year comes the anticipation of all it holds in store. We are already overwhelmed with what God is doing as we faithfully walk through the doors & fulfill the assignments He has entrusted to us! It is our prayer that you are experiencing this, as well. Whether you find yourself on the mountaintop, or waiting in the valley, God has an assignment for you to fulfill. He has a way of capitalizing on circumstances to draw people to Him.
Recently I was reading in Acts 19 about Paul’s ministry in Ephesus. Believers were being baptized with the power of the Holy Ghost, lives were being transformed, & miracles were taking place. The seven sons of Sceva attempted to use God’s power for their own benefit, trying to exorcise an evil spirit out of a man. The evil spirit itself answered, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15) The sons of Sceva were made a mockery that day as they did not possess the power of which they professed. They failed the authenticity test.
The sons of Sceva were made a mockery that day as they did not possess the power of which they professed. They failed the authenticity test.
In these last days we must determine to remain in step with the Holy Spirit, maintaining a current relationship with Christ. Pretenders will have no impact in casting out darkness. Only those possessing “the real thing” will overcome & take ground for the Kingdom.
Are you ready for the authenticity test?
Yours for Souls,
Chresten & Bridgette Tomlin
